8-12 inch Semiconductor fab and used equipment market in China
Noriyoshi Kuromasa
Chief
Shanghai Bureau
Sangyo Times, Inc.
Chinese 12 inch fabs has 10 production line and capacity of 480K, and 8 inch fab such as SMIC, HH-Grace, CSMC and Shiran Micro has 15 production line and capacity of 760K. In 2019,HH-Grace will start the production of 12 inch Fab in Wuxi city(Jiangsu). They plan move in 12 inch of used equipment, because 8 inch of used equipment were short.

The Challenge and Opportunity of ≤200mm Equipment Technology Development in an Increasingly More-Than-Moore (MTM) & IoT Focused World
Yuichiro Sugiyama
Director
Equipment Product Group, Applied Global Services
Applied Materials Japan Inc.
In recent years, the 200mm wafer fab equipment market has undergone a renaissance. With the rise of the so called More-than-Moore (MTM) class of device technologies, the 200mm and below wafer fabs are seeing increased wafer volume demand and tool utilization rates that are driving the demand for both capacity add and new technology tools alike. While this has presented a significant opportunity for equipment OEMs, there are new and existing challenges to be overcome in supporting a growing 200mm market. From technology segment trends, to supply chain inventory, impact of new vs. used on price and delivery times, device technology transitions, to presenting the value of wafer size migration. This presentation outlines and discusses some of the challenges faced by Applied Materials’ 200mm Equipment Product Group as it navigates the pitfalls and opportunities in the rapidly changing legacy semiconductor equipment market while working to support new and emerging technologies in an increasingly complex and diverse MTM and IoT world.

Measures against aging 200mm equipment and long term utilization strategy of 200 mm fab
Hisashi Takahashi
Senior Specialist
Equipment & Productivity Engineering Department, Technology Division
Renesas Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
Many 200 mm fabs and equipment have already been in use for more than 30 years, some of the equipment is becoming obsolete, equipment manufacturers' support is not obtained, and some equipment manufacturers have already disappeared. On the other hand, 200 mm fab products are expected to continue booming in the future due to the full arrival of the IoT era. Therefore, we will describe the direction of countermeasures against aging of 200 mm equipment, and how to maintain and utilize 200 mm fab in the long term.
