In the development of a system that did not exist in the market the past, we will need knowledge across a wide range of fields and deep knowledge of the specialized field . In the case of projects such as sales scale has not been determined . From the development of the mechanism and control in order to achieve the main specs to establish a manufacturing process, it must be performed in a short period of time and in a limited small number of personnel with the cooperation of each department . Temperature and pressure automatic testing machine that was launched last year has achieved the shipment in three months from the start . I introduce you to that I have experience as an electrical designer at that time .
Challenges and hardships on productization of dry pumps.
Kazuma Ito
Manager
Technical Support Division, Ebara Precision Machinery Korea
Ebara Corporation
Dry vacuum pump that creates the vacuum indispensable in semiconductor manufacturing has been demanded to reduce energy consumption, because of requirements of decreasing environmental loads and reducing manufacturing cost of semiconductors. I want to tell and share thoughts and enthusiasm at the time of the challenge to make an extremely low energy consumption of dry pumps that also satisfying the present performance. And I also want to tell the struggle and joy when I improved the products together with the relevant departments due to make the pump that considered an ease of manufacturability and a reduction of manufacturing cost.
Challenges to new SWC equipment development
Takahiro Yamaguchi
Process Engineer
Products Development Section, Product Development Department, Chemical Clean System Operations
SCREEN Semiconductor Solutions Co.,LTD.
I was assigned to America in 2013 to support our 450mm Single wafer cleaning tools installed in Global-450 Consortium as a process engineer. I felt keenly the importance and difficulty of achieving both process performance and productivity improvement equal to or greater than 300mm tools, from the experience I was working with customers. After returning to Japan, my team and I developed a new SWC equipment which achieves both fine process performance and high productivity by the fusion between high throughput/ low footprint 300mm platform and new etching nozzle that can control etching rate with low chemical usage.
From the original idea is not new product development in the world

I have been in charge of the testing and evaluation of products under development ever since joining the company, have accumulated experience as well as mastering the basics, and am currently involved in product development. Now, I am in charge of the development of ball screws. While performing this task, I focused on the need for cooling ball screws, and was able to achieve commercial viability. Large-scale peripheral equipment is required for the method whereby cooling water is passed through into the nut and axis for existing cooling technology, and mounting to products is also difficult. I considered the existing cooling method from the perspective of product evaluation, and developed a cooling system that satisfies both function and cost requirements. My current task is creating products that have never existed before, something that I have wanted to do since I was a student, so every day I feel very fulfilled.
Understanding the essence by making trial and error
Daisuke Oku
Engineer
Advanced Application Development G System Development Center
Tokyo Electron Limited
I developed the new wafer conveyance algorithm in the semiconductor production equipment.
During the development, I made much of practice than theory construction.
I actually saw a phenomenon first, then built up a hypothesis and verified it.
I came to understand the essence before long when I repeated them.
The development came to rapidly advance after I understood the essence.
I learned that it is important to understand the essence by making trial and error.
Associating! Creating!

I designed a unit of OHT (Overhead Hoist Transfer), which suppresses the swing of FOUP while OHT is running. but it turned out to be turned down. But this unit helped a lot in resolving other problems, which happened during the later development of other units. Not only big unit like this, but also little ideas are associated while I was trying to design something new, or solving some problems during the development. I find it helps a lot, if one can catch the ideas from his surroundings, and take them in as knowledge of his own.
