Asia region was main manufactuing sire for PC, digital consumer and smartphone in last 20 years. IoT is expected for next market driver, then Asia will continue to be a major manufactuing site. It is a big question now. IoT will improve productivitiy of electronics industry, also automation and predictive maintenance technology can change manufacturing dinamics. IHS expects developed country can be a manufacting site in IoT era.

The Chinese government composed IC industry funds (big fund) more than 100 billion RMB and has begun to support it for the advanced technology development of the semiconductor and the investment of the large mass production fab. A construction plan of the huge memory fab was announced in Hubei Wuhan City. Intel and Samsung, the overseas company including TSMC activate investment in China, too. I introduce the latest information about a preferential policy of the Chinese government and the investment project of Chinese makers (Fabless and Foundry, OSAT).
